Miracles

John the Baptist had heard about Jesus. He sent men to ask if he was the One To Come. The following passage gives Jesus' response from Luke 7:21 "Go back and report to John what you have seen and heard: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cured, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor."

Immediately preceeding this exchange, Jesus had raised the widow's son from the dead in Luke 7:14. In Matt 9:27-31, Jesus had restored sight to two blind men. In Matt 17:24-27, Jesus instructed Peter to throw a line in the water. When he did, he pulled back a fish that had a coin with which they could pay their taxes. In Mark 7:31-37, Jesus healed a deaf and dumb man. In Luke 4:28-30, Jesus became invisible so that the crowd could not see him, and passed through it. In Matthew, Mark, and Luke, Jesus stilled the tempest, cast out demons, healed a leper, raised Jairus's daughter from the dead, healed a woman of an issue of blood, cured a man of palsy, restored a man's withered hand, cured a lunatic and two blind men.

Because of the confirmation of the bible in the areas of miracles, fulfilled prophecy, and resurection from the dead, we must believe it is true in other areas that affect us. The God that created the universe says that he is concerned about us - that he longs to have relationship with us. The only thing that separates us from him is our sin. But, he made a way for this sin to be forgiven. To learn more about this way, click here.
