Identify The Saviour
There are at least 68 prophecies predicting who the Messiah or Saviour would be. If there were only one prophecy to be fulfilled, the chances of it being fulfillied would be one in two (either it is or it is not). If there are two prophecies, the chances would be one in four because there are four possible outcomes. If there are 68 prophecies, the odds are 1 in 295147905179353000000.
The prophecies cover some of the following areas. Manner of birth (Isaiah 7:14)
Time of birth (Daniel 9:25, Genesis 49:10)
His place of birth (Micah 5:2)
Betrayal (Zechariah 11:11-13)
Manner of Death (Psalm 22:16), (Crucifixion). Note the crucifixion in detail, down to the gambling of the Roman soldiers for his robe. This was written 800 years before crucifixion was invented by the Romans.
Piercing of hands, feet and side (Psalm 22, Zechariah 12:10)
People mocking (Isaiah 53, Psalm 22)
Burial (Isaiah 53:9) |
